Another wind win: The final blades are now in place at the country’s first large-scale offshore wind operation. (WBUR)
Last Friday, two wind projects hindered by the Trump administration made meaningful strides: Revolution Wind started sending power to the grid, and Vineyard Wind reached the end of construction.
It’ll be a few weeks before all of Vineyard Wind’s 62 turbines are spinning. But the project is predicted to save Massachusetts ratepayers $1.4B over the first two decades of operation.
As for the others? Dozens of stalled offshore wind projects have low odds of kicking off construction while President Trump remains in power—but things could change in the coming years.
