ComEd launched a pilot with three Chicagoland districts to study bidirectional “vehicle-to-grid” (V2G) charging, which could reduce peak demand and lower school energy costs.
The pilot is part of ComEd’s $231M electrification program and could pave the way for a statewide model, though early challenges include high costs, maintenance hurdles, and cold-weather reliability.
