Utah ’s PUC said it can’t compel Rocky Mountain Power to chase projects that qualify for soon-to-expire federal tax credits, but it will scrutinize whether the utility prudently acts on those opportunities in future rate cases.
Advocates say that’s effectively a win, pushing RMP parent company PacifiCorp to move faster on projects already in its plan—or risk explaining to ratepayers why Utah missed out on billions in potential savings other states are racing to capture.
