The Trump administration often blames renewables for rising electricity bills—but its own data tells a different story. (POLITICO)
A POLITICO analysis of EIA data found that out of 22 states with an above-average share of renewables, 17 had below-average power prices in June—including 13 red states like Texas, Iowa, and Oklahoma.
The latest Lazard analysis backs it up: Solar and wind remain the cheapest new power sources even without federal subsidies—well below the cost of building new gas, coal, or nuclear plants.
