WHY VIEW: FortisBC is a regulated utility that provides safe and reliable energy, including natural gas, electricity, and propane. Working within some of the most spectacular and challenging terrain in the world, FortisBC must manage and maintain close to 48,700 kilometers of natural gas transmission and distribution pipelines.
With assets spread across such a vast area, FortisBC had to rely on archaic tools, including manual record-keeping and paper maps—as well as siloed and stale data—to stay on top of its asset inspection cycles.
In 2018, FortisBC began to modernize its asset inspection approach. The utility shifted to a fully integrated inspection program generated from its enterprise asset management (EAM) system. Today it relies on Network Assessment Framework tools for general asset inspections and leak surveys. Field workers and supervisors can easily execute, visualize, and track progress using combined asset intelligence from GIS and EAM systems within their Mobile Workforce Management system.
In this ON-DEMAND webinar, FortisBC will show how today the data generated from inspections flows directly to the FortisBC EAM system for a real-time view of the operation, providing the utility with a fully automated, integrated, and digital compliance model.
Learning outcomes: 1. How the integration of EAM and GIS technologies can provide workers with powerful, intuitive tools for greater efficiencies 2. Benefits from giving their administrators and workers the flexibility of choosing form- or map-centric workflows, depending upon the use case 3. How to simplify integrating large enterprise systems if you leverage connector products VIEW TODAY Speakers: |
