Extreme weather events (EWEs), which are happening more often, are threatening the infrastructure that supports supply and demand. Moreover, the energy transition, which is the technological transformation of the energy sector from fossil-based systems of energy production and consumption to renewable energy sources like wind and solar, is challenging the predictability of supply. When you combine these two factors, the delicate juggling act of balancing supply and demand is becoming much more difficult.
