Mingyang launches 8.5MW onshore wind turbine

Mingyang Smart Energy has launched what it says is the world's biggest onshore wind turbine. The new MySE 8.5-216 has an 8.5MW capacity and a rotor diameter of 216 metres, according to the firm, and can generate 200,000 kWh of power each day.
