The Agreement between Uzbekistan and Russia on cooperation in construction of nuclear power plant enters into force.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Russian Federation on cooperation in construction of a nuclear power plant on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, signed on 7 September 2018 in Moscow, entered into force on 19 October 2018.

The document envisages cooperation in the design, construction, commissioning, operation of a nuclear power plant in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan consisting of 2 power units based on a water-cooled power reactor according to a Russian project with an installed capacity of each power unit up to 1.2 GW.
