My career at SMUD spanned 5 decades from 1975 to 2011. I began my career at 18 as a summer vacation relief meter reader while attending Community College. Following my graduation from CSU Sacramento with a BA in Mathematics, I embarked on a career in Nuclear Power at Rancho Seco Nuclear Power Plant beginning at the ground level as a Power Plant Helper. I progressed up the ranks and eventually attained my Senior Reactor Operator License as Assist Shift Supervisor in the Control Room. Shortly after the shutdown of Rancho Seco in '89 I transferred to the Energy Control Center and transitioned to a Power System Operator '93. At the time of my retirement in '11 I was functioning as a Realtime Energy Trader. My licensing and certifications include: Reactor Operator, Sr Reactor Operator, Certified Fuel Handler, Nerc Certified System Operator, Reliability.
