Portland General Electric is looking for individuals with control systems experience who are excited about change and interested in learning new technology to become part of a team working to enable the clean energy future our customers want. You will be part of a collaborative team ensuring that our control center systems (EMS and ADMS) operates well. The Grid Technologies team of Analysts and Engineers currently support multiple real-time systems used by the control center, including EMS, ADMS and T&D PI system. We are looking to add one more Analyst and one more Engineer to the team. Staff or Senior level experience is ideal, and the level will be commensurate with experience. These positions are in Portland, Oregon and will be relocating to Tualatin, Oregon in 2022 to our new Integrated Operations Center.
The Grid Technologies Systems Analyst reliably operates PGE's transmission and distribution systems in compliance with electric system reliability standards, applicable tariffs and other rules and take actions necessary to protect electrical equipment and ensure public safety. They troubleshoot and maintain application and systems used with the Control Center. The Analyst supports the integration efforts between the various systems and reviews operational processes, operational plans, procedures and documentation to support Grid Operations.
The Grid Technologies System Engineer support the System Control Center’s transmission and distribution (T&D) operational function. Their focus is on SCADA testing and checkout for ongoing substation capital and maintenance work; database update work for changes made to the T&D systems. They work with substation SCADA systems; developing and maintaining operational and situation awareness displays for the System Operators and maintain T&D PI tags, displays and notification systems.
