Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Prepares Environmental Reports for RUS project approvals.
  2. Initiates and coordinates all necessary correspondence with state and federal agencies regarding their requirements as related to transmission projects.
  3. Initiates and coordinates the activities of consulting biologists, archeologists, and other environmental consultants.
  4. Prepares environmental assessments for loan applications.
  5. Procures all necessary permits from state and federal agencies.
  6. Prepares preliminary alternate transmission route drawings and makes site visits to confirm or deny the feasibility of different routes.
  7. Coordinate the environmental and permitting schedules with transmission design engineer.
  8. Reviews, revises, and updates the state transmission maps for all the co-ops statewide.
  9. Reviews, for accuracy, information, maps, and reports prepared by consultants.
  10. Maintains the environmental and permitting schedules for transmission and right of way cross-departmental meetings.
  11. Track and report project costs, and supports monthly and annual budget requirements
  12. Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
  13. Supports Central’s regulatory and policy activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Strong organization and project management skills needed.

Must possess progressive training levels in AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, GIS.

Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

Essential to be able to visit job sites and walk through and inspect the various sites

Education and Work Experience:

BS degree in Environmental Engineering, biology, archeologist, environmental sciences, or related field, required.

3-5 years prior experience preferred.
