The tech giant signed a deal to buy electricity from a 400-MW natural gas plant in Decatur, Illinois, developed by Low Carbon Infrastructure and equipped with CCS that will trap about 90% of its COâ‚‚ emissions.
The facility will sit on an Archer Daniels Midland industrial site already used for underground COâ‚‚ injection and is expected to start producing power in the early 2030s.
