Wisconsin companies, city of Madison join challenge to cut carbon emissions in half by 2030

Is collaboration key to meeting net-zero goals?  The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy, (ACEEE) gave Madison, Wisconsin a ‘most improved’ rating for energy efficiency and emissions reductions in 2021. While improved, ACEEE said the city is unlikely to meet its goal to reach net-zero emissions in operations by 2030.  State building codes that don’t allow communities to push more stringent energy efficiency requirements were listed as part of the issue.   Despite the lack of strict regulations, the city, a health system and some 90 companies are taking it upon themselves to reduce emissions and increase energy efficiency.  With employees and investors pushing businesses to make commitments to emissions reductions, what trends have you noticed in energy management?
