The big numbers are reliable (Brazil)!

In 25 years, Brazil went from a predominantly hydroelectric power matrix to one with significant solar and wind power.

What changed?

1. Installed generation capacity/maximum demand ratio in Brazil increased by 71% According to data from the ONS (National System Operator).

2. The reason is simple: non-firm energy sources increased a lot! Photovoltaic sources operate with a 20% load factor. Hydroelectric sources operate with a 50% load factor.

3. Therefore the Marginal Expansion Cost (MEC) increased. The overall MEC with non-firm energy sources is much higher! Of course!

4. "Wire fees" had to and must, accordingly, increase To "accommodate" this new reality.

5. Made in Brazil Hydroelectric plants are firm, cheaper, more environmentally friendly, and 100% "made in Brazil."

When will we base our decisions on MERITOCRACY?
