The "spot" price (PLD, as it's known in Brazil) for electricity has skyrocketed.

In other words: by being able to sell a certain volume, month after month, for settlement (automatically) at the Electric Energy Trading Chamber (power clearing house CCEE), there's great value to be obtained.

The reason is simple: the PLD is well above the prices your company is currently paying.
