The utility saw data center usage jump 17% YoY and now expects annual sales growth of 8% systemwide, including 12% at Georgia Power through 2029.
To meet the surge, Southern plans to add about 10 GW of new generation in Georgia, including 5 gas plants and 11 battery storage facilities, with more projects under review across its territories.
