Amazon will triple the size of its debut X-energy nuclear plant, creating a nearly 1 GW clean energy hub in Washington state. (Latitude Media)
The Cascade Advanced Energy Facility will feature 12 of X-energy’s 80-MW reactors, built in three phases. When complete in the 2030s, it will generate up to 960 MW and support Amazon’s expanding data center operations.
Rather than a PPA, Amazon is directly financing construction, partnering with Energy Northwest to integrate the power into the regional grid.
