Aux. power in BESS is a biggest blunder in India. Aux is not much more and not a big issue. It must not be accounted at all by discom. Putting the same in BESSD scope as per RFS document that also in both in charging and discharging is totally misleading and legally wrong and when it is clearly stated that charging is in off-taker scope means any aux consumed during charging must be accommodated by grid only then why in BESS developer scope?
Yes, agree that during discharging aux consumption is in scope of BESSD and already becomes the part of its system and only concern is to dispatch committed energy at POI.
Moreover, auxiliary consumption is not more, and it is not accounted in the US and Europe, but someone highlighted high aux consumption and discom has put in BESSD scope.
It is recommended to remove aux accounting immediately from either scope.
Also, in current scheme there is no way to account separately during charging and discharging. In normal case in a BESS plant two aux transformers are kept having two power transformers as a redundancy so the Discom would come for JMR every month at two feeders in case meters are installed at both feeders,
Very confusing and unwanted activities for energy accounting for BESSD, field discom team and SLDC.
Pls find images of all four cases just for understanding. Pls call me for any clarity.
All BESSD (standalone) must file petition to SERC/CERC and ask to remove aux power clause immediately from standalone tenders.
