IBM to Acquire Premier Hybrid Cloud Consulting Firm
The 5/12 Executive Order requiring Government agencies to implement strict controls to prevent software supply chain attacks has launched a rush to acquire C-SCRM vendor companies, such as IBM's acquisition of BoxBoat in this announcement and the previous announcement regarding Microsoft's acquisition of ReFirm Labs. The C-SCRM space is nascent but rapidly gaining recognition as a field of practice, occupied by only a handful of vendors with actual, commercially available "running code" that implements NTIA supported SBOM standard formats in a C-SCRM best practice solution.
