Transmission powerlines suffer from a middle child syndrome
A simple diagram of the electricity supply industry tells a story of three siblings: generation, transmission powerlines, and distribution. When there is insufficient power to keep the lights on and drive economies, we automatically question the eldest child’s performance. Meanwhile, we indulge the youngest, forgetting to consider the influential role of the middle child in the family. Does this ring true?
