Utility purchases of tablet computers to support remote technicians and office workers declined 11.9% in the fourth quarter 2021, according to International Data Corporation (IDC). Sales of these devices had been on an upswing since the start of the pandemic when companies had more employees working from home. For the year 2021, total tablet shipments were up 3.2% year over year and reached 168.8 million units, the market's highest level since 2016.
