From a managerial perspective, one of the big advantages of remote work is that it makes it easier to actually track a worker's production. Out of the office, nobody gets brownie points for merely showing up early, or looking busy. It's all about results. Or it should be. After reading this article and looking up 'mouse jiggler', I see that the same antiquated incentives remain at some companies.
