$6.6B Mountain Valley Pipeline gets green light to finish construction

On June 28, 2023, the $6.6 billion Mountain Valley Pipeline gained approval to proceed by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). When complete, the 300-mile pipeline will move natural gas from Wetzel County, West Virginia, to Pittsylvania County, Virginia. Owner Equitrans Midstream Corp. said construction work will resume shortly, and it expects the project to wrap up by the end of the of 2023. The pipeline project is being developed and constructed by a joint venture that includes Equitrans Midstream, NextEra Energy, Consolidated Edison, AltaGas and RGC Resources.Â
