Building an energy efficient home from the ground up is one thing but retrofitting a century-old building is ‘a whole different animal.’ This Washington D.C. family took on the challenge. They retrofit their 100 year-old home to drastically reduce their energy use and by making the house air tight, they improved its energy efficiency. “I have three children,” said homeowner, Vanessa Bertelli, “This is personal to me.”
