REDUCING ENERGY POVERTY IN LAGOS STATE: STRATEGIES AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Lagos is a megacity of over 20 million people and the economic capital of Nigeria. Its rapid growth places pressure on resources and ecosystem services that support the needs of its citizens. Improving access to electricity and other modern forms of energy is an essential factory necessary to accelerate human development, through greater use of energy technologies enhancing conditions for business, study and leisure. With the adoption of agenda 2063, and the UN 2030 Agenda for sustainable development, the leadership of Nigeria has committed to achieving universal access to electricity by 2030.
