What a fortunate situation to be in to have more than one decarbonization technologies available-- different niches will adopt what makes the most sense for them, and I sense the utility of scale will be suitably available to both (though way more for electrification, which thanks goodness because I want to see more EV charger build out!)

BEVs will clearly be the most popular option for carbon-free personal transportation, but for those applications where batteries are not the best fit, ammonia is usually a better choice that hydrogen (except for public relations stunts, wherein hydrogen's name recognition is important).

Ammonia, a carbon-free fuel made from hydrogen and nitrogen, can be a fuel for not just fuel cells, but also internal combustion engines.  This means ammonia powered vehicles can have lower upfront cost than BEVs or FCEVs. 

Importantly, liquid ammonia has triple the energy density of 5000 psi hydrogen, and only modest pressure is required, so the tanks are much smaller and much lighter.  This makes it better for marine shipping, aviation, and for distribution by truck to refueling stations.
