Climate policies to be passed by US Congress
One of the most important climate policies in US history may soon be passed by Congress. A provision in the $3.5 trillion budget plan entails the Clean Electricity Payment Program, which calls for the power sector to generate 80% of its electricity from sources like wind, solar, and nuclear by 2030, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by more than a billion tons annually.
