Today, the Utility 2030 Collaborative (U2030) announced the keynote speaker for its annual meeting, SPARK, being held on August 28-29, 2022, at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California. Dr. Courtney Henderson, Mayor of Truckee, California, will be kicking off the meeting with the presentation, "Mobilizing Citizens and Communities for a Better Energy and Water Future".
As communities face new environmental, social, economic, and political challenges, utilities and governments have new opportunities to influence how residents and businesses use energy and water. Drawing upon a decade of experience in the energy industry and her role as Mayor, Dr. Henderson will discuss these challenges and how utilities can collaborate with the communities they serve to ignite lasting behavior change.
Dr. Henderson also serves as the Chair for the Women Who Spark (WWS) award winners, who will be announced during the annual meeting. Positioned to close the gender gap in energy and utility innovation, the WWS awards program celebrates and elevates the impact of innovative female utility company professionals actively supporting other women in innovation. Winners will be selected from nominations for their success spearheading, building, launching, and enabling the creation of products, services, and experiences that are inventive and commercially successful.  Meeting attendees will benefit from direct interactions with WWS award winners.
