«Hinkley Point C is an outlier in terms of LCOE costs, rather than the norm,” says Teplinksy,»

So what is «normal» LCOE cost for new nuclear? Perhaps Vogtle, running years late and $30 billion and STILL counting?

Perhaps the vaunted French fleet running at about 60% reliability?

Perhaps SMRs that MAY first be commercial, at yet unknown cost, safety, reliability by 2030?

I think there is way too much wishful thinking here.
