The clean energy transition continues to show strong momentum across all sectors of the economy as federal, state, and local governments set lofty clean energy and decarbonization targets. At the heart of these targets are energy service providers and their ability to collect troves of data on when, where, and how customers are using energy. As an increasing number of utility regulatory commissions are ruling on access to utility data, several states are examining the implications of making this data more accessible to customers and third parties.
