On Demand - Data Diodes 101: Protecting the Grid with Hardware [an Energy Central PowerSession™]
- Mar 18, 2021 4:44 pm GMT
This PowerSession is designed to be an introduction to data diodes for those new to the technology and an update for those that are familiar. Learn about how and why they are used, the variety of use cases, costs and the future of hardware cybersecurity.
Data diodes have been protecting critical infrastructure for over a decade, yet myths and misperceptions about them persist. Many operators aren’t well versed in the range of use cases they fulfill or believe they are relegated to a narrow set of use cases. Our panel is going to explain why the DHS, FBI and NSA endorse their use, discuss the many use cases they support (alarm management, database transfer, cloud analytics, historian replication, OPC, etc.), explore myths about costs and deployments, and take a look at what the next generation of hardware-enforced cybersecurity looks like
