Call for Articles - Data Analytics & Intelligence - [Energy Central Special Issue Series]

The power sector is getting smarter, and increasingly that means more than just intelligent technology installed in the grid. Instead, the key aspect of utility intelligence comes from the collection of data from that smart equipment and the deliberate, thoughtful, and impactful analysis of the data to create customer, asset, and business insights.

Too often, though, utilities are stopping short of implementing those solutions, simply collecting the data and then sitting on it without taking full advantage. Data without analytics is as useful as a power plant disconnected from the grid, but in the increasingly data-filled world, it can be tough to know where to start.

That's where we're leaning on the Energy Central community to provide their experiences and insights in this November  Special Issue: "Data Analytics & Intelligence."

For this issue, we want to hear from you! We are seeking stories, white papers, and case studies from our community for this Special Issue Edition. We are especially looking for insights on the following topics: Customer Analytics, Real-Time Data Analytics, Organizational Analytics, Infrastructure Modeling, Analytics, and any other related topics.

Our Special Issues present a unique opportunity to share your experiences with peers in the industry and perhaps even help kickstart conversations that help you and others uncover new potential solutions and opportunities.

How you can Participate:

For Professionals who work for a Utility, IPP, RTO, or Government Agency

We're inviting submissions from experts and leaders with expertise in our Special Issue topic. Participating in the issue is an opportunity to share your hands-on experiences, lessons learned, and perhaps your predictions for the coming years with your fellow community members.

  • Submission is free for professionals who work for utilities, IPPs, RTOs, or government agencies. See below for details on how to submit an article and for deadlines.

  • Guaranteed inclusion in the Special Issue Newsletter
    • Submitted content needs to meet our Special Issue criteria as an in-depth thought leadership piece around the specific topic focus. Length is ideally 5-10 paragraphs. Charts and graphics are encouraged and welcome! Featured Resources like Case Studies, White Papers, etc., are also accepted.
  • Content will be promoted in additional Network Newsletters.
  • Content will be published under a custom-branded company page. Follow the link for an example.

Option 2: Participate as an independent author sharing an in-depth thought leadership article

This option does not guarantee article inclusion in the Special Issue Newsletter or under the Special Issue Topic Page. We may, however, approve the article to be posted in the Community.

  • If you have already received a "free" thought leadership article in another issue, yours will likely not be included in this edition. We limit each issue to about 8-10 articles.
  • Under this option, you cannot have any product mentions or company links in the article. Any article submitted that includes product and company mentions will be declined unless you choose to participate as a content sponsor.
