Direct Options Employee, Liz Knipper, Achieves GIS Certificate from the University of Cincinnati

Cincinnati, Ohio – April 9, 2014-

Elizabeth “Liz” Knipper has earned a Geographic Information Science (GIS) Certificate from the University of Cincinnati. As Geographer and Account Coordinator with Direct Options, Ms. Knipper uses GIS software to produce highly effective analytical maps for clients, giving them the ability to visualize spatial data and build decision support for their programs.

Utilities have become accustom to using GIS for Infrastructure needs; Knipper is looking at how their customers have been engaged in the past and how utilities can better engage them in the future. “Mapping is a thought-provoking way for our clients to see a geographic snap shot of how their programs are performing. It is also important to look at a customer’s human geography to completely understand how they will or are responding to a program. ” DirectMapping feeds directly into DirectInsights (Analytics), giving Direct Options better leverage to help its client meet their goals.

Ms. Knipper has been with Direct Options since 2010. She has mapped customer engagement, energy efficiency, customer satisfaction, and client territories. She plans to next apply for professional certification with the GIS Certification Institute. Ms. Knipper received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography from The Ohio State University.
