Utility 2030 Collaborative Accepting Nominations for Women Who SPARK Awards Program

The Utility 2030 Collaborative (U2030) is currently accepting nominations for its Women Who SPARK (WWS) Awards Program.

Positioned to close the gender gap in energy and utility innovation, WWS focuses solely on celebrating, and elevating the impact of innovative female utility professionals actively supporting other women in the energy and water sectors. These awards spotlight individual contributions, along with boosting the profile of the companies the nominees and winners serve.

Submit your nominations now through June 30th

 The Innovators

U2030 is now seeking nominations for individuals who are spearheading, building, launching, or enabling the creation of energy and utility products, services, and experiences that are inventive and commercially successful. They include:

  • Executives: Recognizing those who have demonstrated significant leadership impact over their careers (i.e., c-suite, presidents, and vice presidents). Winners will be offered a U2030 Board of Directors role.
  • Leaders: Recognizing those who have demonstrated an aptitude and trajectory into executive roles in energy innovation (i.e., directors and managers). Winners will be offered a U2030 Advisory Committee role.

Both the winners and submitters will receive free registration to SPARK, the U2030 annual meeting, where four winners will be announced from the following categories:

  • Utility cooperative
  • Utility municipality
  • Investor-owned utility
  • Utility industry vendor

The annual meeting will be held August 28-29, 2022, in Los Angeles, California

 The Innovations

U2030 is looking for women who are developing energy and water game-changing products, experiences, and/or services that are commercially successful in one of these categories:

  • Customer Experience
  • Workforce Development
  • Infrastructure Modernization
  • Beyond the Meter Products & Services
  • The Energy Transition
  • Energy Equity & Equality
  • Water Transformation
  • Utility Operations

We can do better” says Dr. Courtney Henderson, Women Who SPARK Award Program Chair and the Mayor of Truckee, CA. “The evidence is indisputable; diversity is good for business. We want to identify and recognize women spearheading innovation within the energy and utility industry. Their efforts are critical to making the necessary transition to a thriving digital utility of the future.”

U2030 Annual Meeting

The format for SPARK, the U2030 annual meeting, is custom developed by the behavioral scientists from See Change Institute to:

  • Uncover the shared goals of utility participants
  • Identify challenges and opportunities related to reaching those goals
  • Understand what’s coming next
  • Crystalize plans to achieve success

Attendees will benefit from direct interactions with WWS award winners through roundtable sessions, informal exchanges, and more.

SPARK is being hosted through a strategic partnership with Cloud for Utilities and the 2022 Digital + Cloud Summit for Utilities. This partnership allows attendees to attend both organizations’ 2022 events through a single registration with discounted bundled pricing.

Thanks, @Energy Central for posting this press release to help us get the word out.   We're excited about this awards program.  We want to recognize women in the industry for all they do, not only for their work but for mentoring other women as well.  Four awards will be given in total, one each for a woman at an IOU, Muni, Co-Op, and Utility professional.  If you know a woman who "SPARKS" please nominate her by June 30th!
