Ohio House committee passes bill to save nuclear power plants


A committee in Ohio's House of Representatives voted along party lines to approve a bill to save the state's two nuclear power reactors from retirement and provide some financial support for a couple of ailing coal plants....

Unfortunate that Ohio Republicans were able to get support for coal plants included in this bill, but apparently, necessary. The saving grace: far easier to close coal plants than re-open nuclear plants, a fact which was not lost on Ohio Democrats and environmentalists.
