Carbon free usually is a code word for Nuclear, not real clean renewable fuel. But AES is doing it the right way. QUOTE = AES will source energy from a portfolio of wind, solar, hydro, and battery storage resources. I

Google is way ahead of most, been carbon neutral for over a decade but now is moving towards an hourly match between carbon free electricity and their usage in all regions - so they are taking on the seasonal and daily variations in demand and generation - few entities, commercial or municipals will do that.  They can shift their loads around the world - we don't know where our searches are happening.
