Currently working as Chief Executive of an Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Ghana, West Africa (Cenpower Generation Company Limited), implementing a 350MW CCGT Plant. Financed by 6 Development Finance Institutions and 5 Commercial Banks, project reached Financial Close in December 2014, raising circa US$900million on project finance basis and is currently under construction. As CEO, I have the overall responsibility for the management of the strategic, technical, commercial and regulatory operations of the company. These include overall responsibility for EPC management, financial interface with project lenders, regulatory and Government institutions. Principal duties and responsibilities are:

  • Develop and implement the business strategy and plan for the organization in accordance with the project documents
  • Maintain oversight of all aspects of the day-to-day management and operations of the company, including ensuring effective project management during the construction period
  • Engage board members at appropriate intervals, including securing their support for the business instruments such as draft budgets, draft organizational structure, policies and procedures
  • Manage and control all high level interfaces with regulatory agencies and financing institutions as well as the project counterparties
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure Company compliance with company policies and to implement effective controls

Qualifications include:

  1. Masters in Electrical Engineering from Belarus Polytechnic Academy, Minsk, Belarus (1989)
  2. Masters in Public Administration and Public Policy, Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, USA (2001)
