President, LEVY ASSOCIATES
Roger Levy established Levy Associates in 1980. He has been actively involved with theutility industry since the mid 1970's, completing over 200 projects in system development,planning, implementation, evaluation, and research.
Roger was the principal consultant for the California Energy Commission advanced meteringand pricing initiatives as well as the lead on the California Statewide Pricing Pilot. As aconsultant to the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory Demand Response ResearchCenter he developed their first comprehensive research plan, supported the commercializationof OpenADR, and managed projects to enable dynamic pricing and demand responsetechnology. Roger was also the lead consultant on the DOE/LBNL Smart Grid TechnicalAdvisory Project where he provided technical, policy, and research support to NARUC andtraining to 20 state regulatory commissions nationally. Roger also participated as senior technicaladvisor on several of the DOE funded Smart Grid Investment Grant Consumer Behaviorpilots.
Roger has been involved with sustainable community projects, transportation planning,environmental impact evaluations, technology development, and implementation in privateindustry and with utilities. He began his career with the Corporate Planning group at XeroxCorporation, was a senior system analyst with RCA Computer Systems, and spent sevenyears as a management consultant with Arthur Young & Company and Price Waterhouse. Inthe mid 1970's Roger received a special appointment to the just inaugurated CaliforniaEnergy Commission where he managed 23 of the first PURPA pricing and load managementpilots and co-managed development of the State Load Management Standards.
Roger received a BS in Management Science from the Simon Graduate School ofManagement at the University of Rochester and a MBA in Quantitative Methods from theMarshall Graduate School of Business at the University of Southern California.
