Peter Lang is a retired geologist and engineer with 32 years’ experience on a wide range of energy projects throughout the world, including managing energy R&D and providing policy advice for government and opposition. His experience includes: coal, oil, gas, hydro, geothermal, nuclear power plants, nuclear waste disposal, and a wide range of energy end use management projects.
After that period, he ran his own company for 9 years providing project management consulting services to the Australian Defence Materiel Organisation and other Australian Government agencies. Currently he is a Research Associate at the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis, Australian National University.
He has been involved in climate and energy policy analysis since 1991, including with the Australian Government’s Ecologically Sustainable Development Program and preparations for the 1992 Rio Earth Summit.
