Noah Horowitz works on issues relating to energy efficiency, including the development of voluntary energy-savings programs for industry, the design of collaborative projects between the private and public sectors, and the creation of mandatory efficiency standards at both the state and the national level. His areas of expertise include residential lighting and appliances, consumer electronics, and energy-saving "cool" roofs. Prior to joining NRDC in 1997, Horowitz was manager of environmental programs for the Quaker Oats Company. He has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a master’s in environmental engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He is based in San Francisco.
