Marian McLemore has more than 25 years experience in public relations, with more than 20 of those in the electric cooperative industry. Currently, Marian is the Vice President of Cooperative Communications for Flint Energies in Warner Robins, Georgia. In her more than 17 years at Flint Energies, she has generated 36 Spotlight on Excellence awards, 30 Cooperative Communicators Association (CCA) awards and a SCPRSA Silver Wing award. Marian was presented with the 2008 Michael Graznak Award, which recognizes the best cooperative communications professional under the age of 36, from the Cooperative Communicators Association (CCA). In 2013, she was recognized as a Touchstone Energy Brand Champion.
Marian is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she earned a B. A. degree in Journalism (Advertising/Public Relations Management). She holds the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) certification from the Public Relations Society of America (there are less than 5,000 people who hold designation in the US). Marian has received the Certified Cooperative Communicator (CCC) and Certified Key Accounts Executive (CKAE) designations from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. She is also a graduate of NRECA’s Strategic Communication Academy and Management Internship Program (MIP).
