Krishan G Insan, MCIArb, MBA, LLM (UK), Chevening Scholar : He is a seasoned professional with various global awards and accolades. He is on a mission to make his country (India) and the world a better place to live. Currently, he is a public servant and working with the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India. His current assignment is in the regulatory body is in Law and Finance division. He has extensive involvement in International Arbitration Matters related to Oil and Gas. Insan is a competent professional with Global Exposure in diversified areas of expertise and competence. He has worked in the industry for almost one and a half decades. In his previous assignments, he has also performed diversified roles in various capacities in Regulatory/ Governmental /Semi-Governmental/Autonomous & Private sector entities. Insan has remained associated with World Bank Institutions like International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), Energy Charter Treaty Secretariat Brussels, Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) of the UK Government, Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), Korea Development Institute (KDI), the Government of South Korea in various capacities and subjects of including Law, Energy Access, Industry Innovations, Climate Action, Access to Justice.. He is the First Indian to be invited to the Energy Leadership Class by the Institute of Energy Law, The Centre for American and International Law, United States. He is trained in Arbitration from Permanent Court of Arbitration and Qualified Arbitrator from Chartered Institute of Arbitrators London. He has got trained in Investment Treaty Arbitration from The Columbia Centre on Sustainable Investment (CCSI), of Columbia Law School. He is a recipient of the Emerging International Leaders Award by Cumberland Lodge, the Leading Charity of The King in the UK. He was invited to the Future Global Leadership Summit by Queen Mary University of London. He was one of the members among a panel of experts invited from all over the world to participate in the Global Roundtable to deliberate on the Role of Higher Education in Achieving SDGs hosted by the ACU in Wilton Park in the UK. He was invited by the Ministry of Finance, Government of South Korea, to the G-20 leadership program. Insan is a Global Co-Chair of the Chevening Sustainability Network supported by FCDO.
