David Yaffe (David) retired from Van Ness Feldman in 2017 having served as a partner in the prominent specialty Washington, D.C law firm. He practiced energy law for 36 years. He specialized in the areas of the electric utility industry, climate change, and renewable energy for compliance and regulation at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) as well as natural gas issues. His work for utilities and renewable energy developers, primarily wind, focused, among other things, in all matters dealing with the electric transmission grid, FERC transmission policy and rulemakings, as well as litigation and arbitration. Earlier in his career, he also represented clients in the field of international finance. Mr. Yaffe currently teaches a class in Energy Law at the George Washington University Law School as an adjunct professor. He has authored numerous articles (through the present).
