Brian Groth is currently the Director of the City of Naperville-Electric Utility. The Utility employs about 100 individuals ranging from Union Linemen to Computer Programmers in its support of over 60,000 residential and commercial customers. Prior to being named Director, Brian has held positions within the Utility including Deputy Director (Operations and Engineering), Manager of Substation Engineering and Information Technology as well as Automation and Communication Engineer. In these positions, Brian has led the IT deployment of the Utility’s Smart Grid platform as well as led large substation infrastructure upgrade projects from concept through construction. Brian attended Bradley University in Peoria, Ilinois and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering as well as a Minor in Business Management in 2006. In 2009 Brian earned a Master of Science degree in Project Management from the McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
