Jay Kassirer is a web publisher with 25 years of experience applying community-based social marketing (cbsm) to energy conservation behaviors. He has contributed to the development of enduring outreach programs like the Green Communities’ home energy audit program, BC Hydro’s Power Smart program and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation’s Sustainable Community Planning initiative. 

Jay publishes the widely acclaimed Tools of Change website (toolsofchange.com),  based on a cbsm workbook he co-authored with Doug McKenzie-Mohr 20 years ago, and for the past decade has managed an annual peer review process that designates best-in-class behavioral energy conservation programs.

He is also an Editorial Board member for Social Marketing Quarterly and the only person to date to have been twice awarded the international Outstanding Contribution to Social Marketing Award by the International and North American social marketing associations.
