This position will provide daily supervision for the Bill Production team and oversees the resolution and completion of billing system generated workflow items (to-do's and spreadsheets),and ensuring that each customer bill is accurate and timely. The daily task includes coaching and developing employees. This position will ensure employees adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and processes; ensure customer conflicts and escalations are resolved and communicated to the identified parties. Collaboration with internal City of Austin stakeholders to ensure pre-billing activities are correctly processed promptly and are maximized across divisions and departments. Serve on various projects as it relates to meter to cash functionality. This position will develop, revise, and implement standard operating procedures, policies, and practices. Create and prepare performance measures, goals, tracking tools, and reports for management review.

Fair Labor Standards Act:
This position is considered FLSA Exempt. Exempt employees are salaried and, except as provided, are not eligible for overtime compensation.
Work Schedule:
- This position is categorized as Essential Personnel with the City of Austin. Essential staff are required to work during emergencies or bad weather if they are scheduled to work and, in some cases, when they are not scheduled. Essential employees ensure the continuance of key operations for the City of Austin.
- Work hours may include after hours, holidays, and weekends.
- Shifts may change according to departmental needs.
- Employee may be required to work additional hours outside of regular work schedule.

$30.14 - $37.68

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience:
- Experience leading, supervising, or managing employees in electric, water, or gas utility billing or customer service environment related to meter to cash.
- Experience prioritizing, assigning, and implementing a quality monitoring program for an operation.
- Experience mentoring, training, developing, and coaching employees.
- Experience communicating, coordinating, and handling complex customer escalations (both oral and written).
- Experience working in Oracle's CC&B or table-based customer information billing systems.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency using Microsoft applications, including Excel and SharePoint.
- Experience developing, revising, and implementing standard operating procedures, practices, and policies.
- Experience and knowledge regarding city or state government regulations and tariffs.
