Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Systems Engineering group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Systems Engineer! This team works a hybrid 9x80 schedule located at our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off.
The Systems Science and Engineering Department leads the application of systems engineering and integration for developing strategic solutions to complex problems. Our department is comprised of four technical groups: system dynamics and modeling, methods and analysis, systems engineering, and distributed energy systems and grid integration.
EES&T's role and mission is to develop and advance clean, smart, and secure energy systems essential to national security, economic prosperity, and environmental sustainability. It embodies science and engineering functions that contribute enabling technologies for today's national energy portfolio. It also augments the country's technical ability to collaborate on and overcome critical energy and water challenges that already impact tomorrow's energy choices.

Responsibilities Include:
- Leverage a strong combination of research, engineering, and operational skills through analysis, modeling and simulation, and integration of complex systems.
- Evaluate alternatives, components, and technologies for enhanced system resiliency; requirements management; evaluating risk and measures; develop and using dynamic simulation models.
- Work with a diverse team of technical experts to support the success of multiple programs across energy science and technology, national and homeland security, and nuclear science and technology.
- Perform efforts independently and in team environments.
- Support and integrate actions, activities, projects, & initiatives of the EES&T Directorate's Integrated Mission Plan and other INL research, development, demonstration, and deployment (RDD&D) efforts.
- Development, implementation, and integration of the selected alternative throughout the project/system life cycle. This includes systems and organizational integration, road-mapping, requirements verification, and testing.
- Develop and implement an appropriate graded systems approach and processes to meet program and customer needs.
- Determine specific program and customer's needs and expectations through customer interactions and facilitation of group meetings.
- Develop appropriate strategy, mission need, or problem definition to initiate a systems approach to meet objectives.
- Facilitate the identification and development of program/project requirements.
- Analyze alternatives to ensure program requirements can be met, including evaluating system alternatives, risks, costs, and other performance measures.
- Validate and lead all aspects of the analyses and development of briefing materials, reports, and other documentation.
- Participate significantly in the preparation of program materials presented to customers and in responding to their questions and requests for information.
- Must be familiar with and follow all relevant health and safety requirements.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in systems engineering, power systems engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a closely related field with 2 years of experience or a master's degree and 1 years of experience or a PhD in Systems or equivalent Engineering.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

- Salary Grade 190 ($68,820 - $113,644) / Salary Grade 210 ($91,032 - $150,156)
