Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Enterprise Support group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a Systems Analyst / Developer! This team works a remote 9x80 schedule with every other Friday off.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Responsible for software development, maintenance and operations, and verification work involving technical complexity and employ imaginative, efficient software solutions.
  • Work on enterprise-level software solutions supporting the business functions at INL with efficient, effective, and secure systems.
  • Provide highly technical support in the areas of software systems analysis, solution design, code development, testing and implementation for successful implementation and operations.
  • Maintain functional and technical expertise in software engineering and business applications.
  • Participate and lead ongoing maintenance and upgrades of application software.
  • Consults with vendors, architects, and users of information applications incorporating practices, information architecture standards, and associated technologies to provide integrated solutions at the project, program, and enterprise-wide level.
  • Develop, communicate, and maintain detailed work plans and schedules to ensure high quality products are delivered in a defined/agreed time frame - ensure documented requirements, organizational change and other IT the best business practices for all endeavors undertaken.
  • Plan and schedule must be adequately comprehensive to allow clear understanding of tasks and achievements.
  • Support task management in the areas of systems analysis, design, testing, and implementation for the successful completion and development of business and research applications.
  • Collaborate with project customers and work lead to determine requirements and to ensure customer/project needs are met during development and after product delivery.
  • Conduct self-reviews of work (including cyber scans) and reviews of colleagues' and subcontractor's work.
  • Participate in business system upgrade projects, improvement teams, and other technical initiatives.
  • Evaluate changing computer technology along with customer information requirements to identify, evaluate the cost/benefit of, and recommend project enhancements and/or acquisition of other advantageous software or systems.
  • Assist in the mentoring, training and directing work of more junior personnel and/or subcontractors.
  • Perform requirements verification, including the development of test cases/plans, execution of testing scripts, and documentation of results in accordance with quality assurance standards and procedures.
  • Maintain complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, and practices required for developing and maintaining complex, efficient, and secure enterprise business software systems.


Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Level 3: BS and 5 yrs., MS and 3 yrs., or PhD and 2 yrs. experience- preferred degree(s) CA, CE, CS, MIS - or 13 years relevant education/experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Level 4: BS and 8 yrs., MS and 6 yrs., or PhD and 4 yrs. experience- preferred degree(s) CA, CE, CS, MIS - or 16 years relevant education/experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with enterprise level software systems providing system support and integration to financial management, project management, human resource management, work management, supply chain, and/or document and records management.
  • Must be a solid teammate, with the ability to articulate and effectively present different points of view on various technologies.
  • The ability to connect with both business and technical audiences.
  • Able to effectively analyze, organize, and implement from concept to operational implementation.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Development experience with PL/SQL, .NET, and Oracle 10g-11g
  • Experience in Java, JavaScript, Perl, and Linux/Unix shell scripting.

  • Salary Grade 210 ($93,492 - $154,212) / Salary Grade 220 ($107,520 - $177,336)
