Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Hosting Enterprise System Admin team for the infrastructure group is seeking forward-thinking professionals interested in exploring a career as a System Administration Lead! Our team works a hybrid 9x80 schedule located at our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Technical lead for System engineers, System administrators, and technical specialists performing computer Operating System planning, design, integration, trouble shooting, Vulnerability management, Operations, and related functions.
  • Technical liaison with customers, employees, Service Management, and peers supporting enterprise data center operations.
  • Resolution of unusually complex computer systems problems, optimization of systems and protocols, support of change management, system design, implementation, customer interface, Service management process, and specialized technical activities.
  • Coordinate and conduct team activities to ensure consideration of requirements by team members and reasonable implementation of same in the project development process.
  • Responsible for approving work for other staff working within the enterprise computer operations.
  • Act as an advisor to management in area of technical specialty contributing to company major business objectives within the Enterprise environment.
  • Manage work-packages budget and reporting.
  • Conduct administrative/personnel activities for the Systems administrator operations group.
  • Assist management in defining staff needs, developing selection criteria, and hiring personnel.
  • Review work progress and evaluates results for the Hosting team.
  • Provide leadership in identifying, promoting, and developing new opportunities within the infrastructure Department.
  • May act in a liaison capacity with other organizations in support of Information Management's role for the INL.
  • Pursue continual learning and self-development of not only themselves but also of the System Administrator team.
  • Serve as a consultant and spokesperson for the company on highly significant matters relating to organization policies, programs, capabilities, goals, and objectives within the Data center operations.


Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5-8+ years relevant experience, Advanced Degree and 3-5+years relevant experience, or 10-13+ years relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Applicants are subject to the requirements of DOE O 142.3B, Unclassified Foreign National Access Program.
  • Experience with two or more of the following:
    • ServiceNow Administration and Service Management knowledge
    • Protocols: Internet protocol suite TCP/IP (IPv4 and IPv6)
    • Enterprise network management
    • Exposure to Linux, Windows, and MAC OS architectures
    • Exposure to Data Center Operations
    • Must have an understanding of the technical skills and terminology used by IM Operations and Communication Infrastructure personnel to facilitate review of work documentation generated by other staff and have strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Salary Grade PR0300: 210 ($93,492 - $154,212) / Salary Grade PR0400: 220 ($107,520 - $177,336)
