PIC Group has an excellent opportunity for a licensed Stationary Equipment Operators to support a Central Utility Plant located in Detroit, MI. The Stationary Equipment Operator would report to the Operations Manager and be responsible for operations of plant equipment, including high pressure steam generators, centrifugal liquid chillers, chilled water pumps, and a cooling tower. The Stationary Equipment Operator is an integral part of a team of operators and play a vital role in mentoring and training at a state-of-the-art energy center.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The Duties and Responsibilities include overseeing high pressure HP Steam Generators, Centrifugal Liquid Chillers, chilled water pumps, and a cooling tower.
- Oversee high pressure chillers, including the adjusting and maintenance of the refrigeration and water cooling.
- Monitor chilled water pumps, chemical pumps and various other pumps including monitoring valves, piping and filters.
- Record readings and make adjustments when necessary to assure proper operation of equipment.
- Analyze the operation of various systems, including determining the cause of any malfunctions and take corrective action as required.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all base building and critical equipment in the facility.
- Working knowledge of chiller operations, steam generators and other balance of plant equipment.
- A solid understanding of Building Automated Systems software.
- Ability to provide leadership and assist with training of less experienced operators.
- Ability to analyze the operations of various systems, including determining the cause of any malfunctions and take corrective action as required.
- Skilled in use of tools and machinery required to perform daily job duties.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes.
- Physical demands of the job, including bending, sitting, lifting, and driving. Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Maintain logs, document equipment repairs, close work orders, track time accurately in reports, and provide timely communication with management.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- HVAC refrigerant license is required
- Third-Class Stationary Engineer License (Boiler Operator) is required.
- 2+ years' experience with chillers and steam generators is required.
